cellulite treatment therapyCellulite formation is a common condition among men and women. However, having cellulite deposits does not mean that you are overweight. In fact, even thin individuals can have cellulites. Cellulites are fat deposits that the body acquires after a drastic change in weight. The condition can be characterized by a seeming lump of fat deposits that build up in certain places such as near the armpit and the underside of the arm. It is also normally seen in the buttocks as well as in thigh areas and is said to occur after puberty.

What is cellulite?

Cellulite is a medical condition known as adiposis edematosa, dermopanniculosis deformans or gynoid lopdystrophy among other terms in the field of medicine. Other more common variations include cottage cheese skin, hail damage, orange peel syndrome, and mattress phenomenon. There are three types of cellulites the first of which can only be detected through a microscopic level. The second order of this skin problem refers to a condition that shows a pasty quality with the cellulite having lower temperature as well as decreased elasticity. Lastly, grade three cellulite disorder can be recognized with the rough skin almost like an orange peel. The third grade cellulite disorder also includes all grade two symptoms.

What causes cellulite?

There are many factors affecting the formation of cellulite among men and women, but scientists have come up with a list of leading theories that have been proven through scientific processes some of which are discussed as follows.

Hormones – cellulite development can be associated with hormonal activities. Many hormones such as estrogen, noradrenaline, thyroid hormones, insulin, and prolactin are major contributors to cellulite formation processes.

Diet – one of the most prevalent causes of cellulite formation is diet. Excessive fat, carbohydrates and salt can cause cellulite production.

Genetics – specific types of genes are meant to pile up fat deposits for hunger. This genetic development has been created out of the need for survival in times of famine. However, it is increasingly becoming a cause for cellulite formation as people with this kind of genetic makeup tend to have slow metabolisms that result in excess fats, and in turn leads to cellulite deposits.

Clothing – blood flow is an important aspect that affects cellulite formation. Limiting the blood flow will cause some parts of the skin to sag off and become sacks of excess fats. Avoid wearing tight elastic straps for clothing in order to prevent cellulite development in the buttocks and thighs.

Cellulite Removal

While some factors that cause cellulite development are unavoidable, cellulites can still be removed. Some of the most common methods are already available in fat removal clinics among other dermatological establishments. These methods have been tested up to an extent, but have not received any important recognition as to its effectiveness. The methods are described as follows.

  • pneumatic massage
  • ultrasound
  • heat therapy
  • magnetic therapy
  • radio frequency therapy
  • lymphatic flow stimulation
  • radial waves therapy
  • electrical simulation
  • endermologie

Other cellulite removal strategies include the regular drinking of pills such as pentoxifylline, beta-agonists and adrenaline among other compounds that help reduce cellulite formation. Ultimately, one of the most effective and cheapest way to remove this skin problem is to engage in a healthy lifestyle and diet.
